Career 4.35 BB/9? That's getting close to J.C. Romero territory. No wonder we want him.

Mahay's been outstanding for the last 3 years running (ERA+ of 117, 173, 240 for 2006-08 respectively). He also can get right-handed hitters out (career .250/.339/.391 vs RHB, .224/.303/.382 vs LHB). I like Donald, but sign me up for this deal.

What about Downs from TOR for Donald? Jays need a SS, Downs is a great lefty.

No question the Phils would deal Donald for Downs in a heartbeat - I doubt Toronto would give him up that cheaply, though.

Jays have Tallet, Carlson, and Ryan, all very good lefties in the bullpen. There is no need for 4 lefties. Plus Cecil coming up next year, who may or may not start.
