According to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, free agent outfielder Corey Patterson switched from Scott Boras to Jim Bronner and Bob Gilhooley. Crasnick figures Patterson will sign a minor league deal given his .205/.238/.344 line in '08.

Looks like Boras instituted a minimum standards clause.

i am with studio. This had to be more of boras giving up on patterson. Usually the only minor league guys he deals with are the ones that have serious upside...

I think you guys are right about Boras leaving Patterson but either way, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt Boras since Corey stinks. What a shame, for awhile there with the Cubs, for half a season, he looked like he was going to be a star - good speed, strong defensive ability, power potential. What happened to this kid?
