Corey Patterson No Longer With Boras

According to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, free agent outfielder Corey Patterson switched from Scott Boras to Jim Bronner and Bob Gilhooley.  Crasnick figures Patterson will sign a minor league deal given his .205/.238/.344 line in '08.

Poor C-Pat. I hope he bounces back. Getting rid of Bora$ is always a good thing.

Did Patterson leave on his own or was he asked to leave?

Looks like Boras instituted a minimum standards clause.

MPM, that's what I think.

i am with studio. This had to be more of boras giving up on patterson. Usually the only minor league guys he deals with are the ones that have serious upside...

I think you guys are right about Boras leaving Patterson but either way, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt Boras since Corey stinks. What a shame, for awhile there with the Cubs, for half a season, he looked like he was going to be a star - good speed, strong defensive ability, power potential. What happened to this kid?
