« Angels Offer Arb To Tex, K-Rod, Garland, Oliver | Main | Arb Offered To Orlando Cabrera, David Weathers »
11:55pm: Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News says the Rangers have interest in re-signing Bradley to a one or two-year deal, but GM Jon Daniels expects him to explore the market. Grant adds that the Rangers have interest in re-signing starter Jason Jennings to a minor league deal. The interest is known to be mutual; Jennings had elbow surgery in May.
10:05pm: According to MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan, the Rangers offered arbitration to Type B free agent Milton Bradley. It was an easy decision given his .436 OBP and .563 SLG this year. Jon Heyman wrote about a month ago that Bradley hopes to find a four-year deal worth more than $10MM per.

Tim,
Do you ever rest? Great job covering the arbitration deadline day.

Yes, Tim, kudos to you. I think Bradley is the most underrated offensive player in baseball.

Thanks. Well I knew I'd have to block off tonight til 11 as these all came in.

Agreeing with the previous two comments. Tim, you're doing an awesome job.
If Milton is looking for a 4 year deal worth more than 10MM per...damnit...my prediction for Milton might be wrong(Tampa)

With 3 RF options now (Abreu, Bradley, Dunn) not requiring a draft pick, Ibanez might have to either lower his price, or sign very late. I think Dunn not requiring a pick might intrest the cubs enough to go after him. The cubs have said the will sacrafice defense for offense, and he fits what they want.
Tim, where do you think Bradley will go? Any chance the Indians look at him? Maybe even the Rockies?
Keep up the good work Tim.

It is looking like a bad market to be a 9-13 mil a year player in. The top guys will get their money but after that I think some of these guys might be in for a rude awakening. I think many in baseball realize this now so it should not be suprising that teams are scared those type of guys would consider taking a nice paycheck and waiting a year. It definitely looks like a logjam of borderline dh guys in that price range. At least one of them is not going to be happy with the contract he ends up with.

walkoffblast- It might be smart for Bradley to accept arb, if he thinks he can stay healthy for a good portion of the 2009 season.
He'd increase his value, and enter a weaker FA DH class if he did.

With his health and other issues I would still take the multi-year deal if I was him. I think he will be alright because he might be slightly cheaper than other options and he had an enticing year statistically.

I hope the Jason Jennnigs comment is a joke. The past 2 years with the Astros and Rangers he was a top 3 worst starter in baseball.
