« Jays, Kevin Millar Close To Deal | Main | Rockies Out On Beimel, Looper? »
According to Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post, the Blue Jays avoided arbitration with reliever Brian Tallet by signing him at $1.015MM for '09. Tallet, 31, held lefties to a .257/.327/.327 line in 2008.
In other lefty reliever news, MLBTR has learned that George Sherrill will agree to terms with the Orioles today or tomorrow. Sherrill had submitted at $3.4MM while the Orioles countered at $2.2MM.

>$2mm for a pitcher who walks 5 batters per every nine innings and an ERA >4.70.
But, they can't express any interest in Randy Wolf?
The O's have had a losing season in the 21st Century (every season BTW) for a reason. They're clueless.

With Ray healthy for 09 he can give the O's another option in the 9th.I look for Sherrill to be traded mid-season and Ray to be the closer once agian.2 to 3 mil isn't bad for Sherrill, I think last yr he was over used in a weak bullpen.

2 to 3 mil. isn't bad for Sherrill. With Ray coming back the O's will have another option in the 9th and Ray will eventually get the closer spot back. Sherrill was over used in a weak bull-pen.
