Shawn Chacon Signs With Athletics
10:20am: Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that Chacon will report to Triple A Sacramento today and is tentatively scheduled to start tomorrow night.
12:24am: MLBTR has learned tonight that pitcher Shawn Chacon signed a minor league deal with the A's. Pitching for the independent league Newark Bears, the 31 year-old Chacon posted a 4.29 ERA with 29 strikeouts and 16 walks in 42 innings this year. The Astros released him about a year ago after he threw the team's GM, Ed Wade, to the ground in a clubhouse altercation.

Billy Beane is probably in better shape than Chacon... if he tries to get tough billy will f him up hahaha. I hope this yahoo doesnt ever make to to our squad

Billy Beane has begun shopping pitching prospect, Gio Gonzalez. Beane said that he will give Gonzalez to any team who can give him shoulder pads, a hockey mask, and a top bodyguard prospect.

I would not expect any less from an Oakland team. Why don't you hire Michael Vick as janitor and Mike Tyson as Shawn Chacons fighting coach while your at it.
Sometimes a professional team needs stand up on principal. Shawn Chacon attacked an old man, period. These are the kind of stand up guys that represents the A's.

Quite franlky, Beane is as big as Chacon and probably still a better athlete. I think that would be a much better fight. That said, I don't see Beane saying what Wade said.

I do love that.
Chacon tackles a middle aged man in the clubhouse, and gets bashed to hell.
Myers smacks his wife in the face in public, and practically nobody seems to even be aware of it.
It has nothing to do with the teams. Brett Myers, the person, is simply no good.

if you are an athletics fan you should be happy you got a pitcher with his upside. there are always going to be haters but chacon is going to prove them all wrong. I know the person he is and he is a good guy. The old man ed wade should learn how to talk to people with respect or get disrespected yourself. this isnt the 50's and shawn wasnt a rookie when ed came at him talking like he was his father. If anyone has something to learn from the situation that happened in houston ed wade should learn how to come at people or just get yolked up!!!! Go shawn you will be back in the show soon. showing everyone else why they shouldnt have hated!!!! P.S. Go Dodgers

This topic has nothing to do with Brett Myers.
Shawn Chacon acted unprofessional at his work. If I grabbed my boss by his neck, I would get fired. If I slapped my wife (outside of work mind you), it would be a domestic problem not a professional problem. The 2 situations are different.
