« Anthopoulos Would Deal Within Division | Main | Reds Talk: Votto, Budget, Olivo »
Freddy Guzman and Josh Towers were outrighted by the Yankees and elected free agency, according to Chad Jennings of The Journal News. Towers would've been arbitration-eligible.
Guzman, 29 in January, hit .223/.272/.294 in 381 plate appearances for four Triple A teams this year. Towers, 33 in February, posted a 3.05 ERA in 103.3 Triple A innings for two clubs.

The only guy here i can expect to see getting a spot on any team is Freddy Guzman and thats because of his wheels late in the game. Any team can pick him up on a cheap as hell minor league deal just for his speed and utilize him similar to how the Yankees did. He becomes a key piece on any postseason team due to this.

Guzman could simply be a late game defensive replacement on certain teams. Besides his speed and ability to run down balls he doesn't offer much.
Towers could be a good back of the rotation signing for a team. He pitched well in the minors that may translate into some success back in the majors again.
