Eric Young Jr. Could Attract Trade Interest

There are at least a few scouts on hand to watch Eric Young Jr. and with the Rockies' depth at second base, the 25-year-old could attract trade interest, tweets Troy Renck of The Denver Post.  There's presently no indication that the club is looking to move Young, Renck tweets, but things can change.

Young, who has also seen time in the outfield, would be an inexpensive addition to any club as he won't be arbitration-eligible until after the 2012 season.  The light-hitting second baseman hit just .244 /.312/.285 in 51 games this season though he has shown better hitting ability at the Triple-A level (.787 OPS).

He makes perfect sense for Detroit. We need a second basemen and Carlos Guillen is not gonna cut it for me.

It’s okay, GreenMonster/Soxfanforlife. You can still post on MLB TR using one handle, but if I see more than the 1 handle, you will be banned.

There are no computer malfunctions, the 2 names have near identical email addresses. It’s best if you don’t continue this further and just stop using multiple accounts.

    • Green_Monster 4 years ago

Same Email Addresses? Do you know how many people there are in the world? And how many Email’s there are? That doesn’t make any sence, I wouldn’t create two accounts.

      • $1519287 4 years ago

Nearly identical email addresses including your real name. Couple that with the same IP address. Come on, this is your final chance.

Dude, read the comment above his and stop posting on this thread. Don’t make him mad because at the end of the day, his word will always mean more than any of ours. He has the power. We don’t. Just keep commenting. Your fine, dude.

        • Mario Saavedra 4 years ago

          Not really. Moderators are nothing without the community, so we have the power (;

But anywho, I wouldn’t take Young unless hes going to a straight mashers park. Philly should look into him.

    • Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

I like that idea. With Chase out til god only knows when, putting Young at 2nd in the meantime would be great for them.

      • Guest 4 years ago

Yeah Col Springs is a hitters paradise. I think the kids got talent but I wouldn’t give up anything of value. Then again crazy Jim Tracy seems to like him, so hes gonna get some JT love.

        • Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

I think he has a lot of talent and would be a good guy to put at the bottom of the lineup where he can get some bunt base hits and stuff like that. The dude can run.

          • Guest 4 years ago

I met his pops last year.. Is he taller than his Dad? Because I’m about 5’6 and I am taller than him. The Dodgers should pick up Junior so they have the fastest duo of ex MLer sons in history..

          • Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

Junior is 5’10”. Where’d you meet his dad. Now you’ve got me interested.

          • Guest 4 years ago

I scorekeep for Houston’s High A farm club, EY works for the Astros. I forget what his official title is.

          • Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

Wait, your the scorekeeper. That is sweet. How’d you get that job if you don’t mind me asking. (staying on topic is not a strong suit of this thread.)

          • Guest 4 years ago

The late Angels announcer Rory Markas was a good friend of my dads and put in a personal reference.

          • Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

Best. Job. Ever. (except for a player, manager, coach, GM, Assistant GM, and is about tied for bullpen catcher) Ok, its pretty low on the pro baseball totem pole but of every job, thats one of the better ones.

          • Guest 4 years ago

I love it, its pretty intense however.. Lancaster might have the best hitting conditions outside of Coors Field.

I got Dustin Pedroia’s autograph once I i noticed that i TOWERED over him. I think he barely went up to my chin. He’s listed at 5’9 and I’m 5’10

          • Guest 4 years ago

            David Eckstein is “5’8″

  4. Guest 4 years ago

Hey could you just erase the A word or something? :)

Side note: Not a Jim Tracy fan!

    • $1519287 4 years ago

That word and other similar ones go through a filter and are automatically deleted. That’s why it’s best if we all refrain from using inappropriate words.

Your post has been edited and put through. :)

Hehe, soon as the comment was posted I knew I committed a partyfoul.

I like Eric Young Jr. Someone have an extra starting pitcher at the AA, AAA level that is close to ML ready? Colorado could use some more depth in my estimation in their starting rotation. The Reds do, but they are one of the few teams that doesn’t need another 2nd baseman at the moment.

    • WisBrave 4 years ago

Brandon Beachy for the Braves, but I’m not sure where Braves would fit Eric Young Jr. in.

      • Does he play any other IF positions well? He could be a utility guy if so (though I personally don’t think that’s worth a cheap, back-end SP). Or if McLouth has a season like he did last year (good spring so far though, for however little that’s worth) EYJ could play in center so we’d at least have a bad hitter with awesome CF defense. He DOES play a mean CF right?

        • WisBrave 4 years ago

Can he play SS is what I’d like to know. I don’t question his defense at 2nd or the OF.

    Thank you for sharing.

  7. Green_Monster 4 years ago

How am I on there? Am I that funny?

  8. Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

One wasn’t good enough for you?

  9. Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

NO… I mean, your funny sometimes and by sometimes I mean rarely. 😛

  10. Green_Monster 4 years ago

Wow, thanks, you just made me cry

  11. Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

    I try lol

  12. Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

There is nothing I hate more than people not seeing obvious sarcasm.

  13. $1519287 4 years ago

Soxfanforlife and Green Monster are the same poster. Same Ip addresses, similar email addresses.

  14. Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

Wow, thats funny. Now I have a new greatest hate, people who make two profiles just so they can like/defend themselves. I lost a lot of respect for him just now.

  15. Green_Monster 4 years ago

That’s screwed, I did not make 2 accounts, but really, that’s screwed. Say what you want, some people will believe you, but that’s stupid.

  16. Guest 4 years ago

Thats totally not your place to say that.
    But funny if true..

  17. Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

No two IP address’ are the same dude. The gig is up. Just admit it and you will be forgiven.

  18. $1519287 4 years ago

It is wrong to use multiple accounts. Please lose one of the accounts.

Please explain the same IP address and also the nearly exact same email addresses?

  19. Green_Monster 4 years ago

I would admit it, if I had something to admit. But I’m so close to just stop posting on this site, trying to frame someone for something they didn’t do.

  20. Green_Monster 4 years ago

Please explain your computer malfunctions, that probably messed this all up.

  21. Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

Is there any way that if he agrees to not use them both anymore and admits it or something that you can delete these comments so his reputation is only dented and not destroyed.

  22. Verlander_Will_Save_Us_All 4 years ago

While he’s looking that up, can he also look into why my IP address is blocked at my mom’s (where I am 99% of the time) and not at my dads so I can comment on here more?

  23. $1519287 4 years ago

Yes. That sounds fair. In the end, I would like GreenMonster to continue posting on MLBTR using only one handle.

  24. $1519287 4 years ago

Just sent you an email regarding this issue.

  25. Green_Monster 4 years ago

Your totally correct, even if I did have two accounts, which I don’t, its completely wrong to give out other people’s info.

  26. $1519287 4 years ago

I am not giving out anyone’s information. That would be immoral. Using multiple accounts is a ban-able offense. Id like the use of multiple accounts to stop.

  27. Guest 4 years ago

If its true, you just destroyed the dudes credibility.. if its not true, its the same situation. I just saw you sent an email to another poster.. why not send 2 anonymous emails? Hey its not my website but that is kinda whack.

  28. Guest 4 years ago

  29. $1519287 4 years ago

That’s a perfectly fair opinion. I feel that if you’re going to sneakily use 2 accounts on here, and use one account to defend the other, then you ought to have no credibility. I gave the commenter every opportunity to admit it and stop using the multiple handles in the future – at which point I would have deleted every comment pertaining to the issue. However, both of his accounts have been banned. So I think it’s time we drop this issue and get back to baseball. Thankjs

  30. Guest 4 years ago

Not trying to rub you the wrong way or anything.

  31. $1519287 4 years ago

You are absolutely not. Your opinion is as valid as mine, and you were very respectful in voicing your disagreement.

  32. $1519287 4 years ago

Would you like to be banned also? Id prefer to not have it come to that.
