Posada yes the Yankees had to put up with his defense, and guess what Montero’s is even worse.
Also you can’t sight good offensive catchers such as Joe Mauer and Brian McCann as reasoning for Montero to catch, because the difference is those two guys can catch and Montero simply can not.
He’s not agile, he is veeeerrryy big (built like a 1b), and scouting reports have consistently stated that he is not a good thrower and not a good game caller. Catching in the minors doesn’t mean he can do it in the big leagues.
The only Jays example I will make is of Brett Lawrie and fans calling for him to go over and fill the hole at second for the Jays because he played there in the minors.
The simple reality that I have realized and that you should too is that the minors and majors are very different
