Shame Boras couldn’t morph Ordonez bat and Drew’s arm into Tek’s body.. Then he could actually have sumfin worth having.
Eduardo Medina
Sorry hear that from Ordoñez…
Moo
Wonder if he can play LF… Indians could be interested if he can.
iheartyourfart
they already signed sizemore to not play left field.
Moo
To not play Center field. If they’re taking a good look at Vlad, they should be taking a look at Maggs.
Draven_X_23
duh…
I love the ego’s baseball players have
tiger313
If you are referring to Mags having an ego, you are dead wrong. I agree baseball players think they are gods, but he isnt one of them. He is one of the most humble people to play the game.
RobM
What’s the ego? That he’s confronting his athletic mortality?
Draven_X_23
He won’t take a minor league deal and work his way onto the roster.
A lot of players on Minor League deals never play in the minors. If they don’t make the team they go looking elsewhere.
JacksTigers
Wow. Why don’t you go troll somewhere else. You know nothing about Magglio Ordonez.
Draven_X_23
Yes you know all. Because he played baseball on a team in your area for 81 games a year. You must be best friends 4 life
JacksTigers
I’m sorry, you know him personally? You know him better than me? Come back with an intelligent point, please.
JacksTigers
By the way, there’s 162 games.

I’ll miss Mags…when he was on the South Side the ‘Oh wee oh wee oh…Magglio’ chant was always in full force when he was at the dish. Great player.

Estoy muy Cerca de mi retiro. He rewrote it later

He’ll always be able to hang his hat on his 2007 season. That was amazing to watch him tear it up that year.
Dan Mazzaro
close to retiring = nobody wants him

Someone should come up with a league for older players. Something like the Senior tour in golf. There are alot of players that still want to play and im sure there are fans that would go out and see a seniors game. I know that i went to a newark bears game a few years back to see Ricky. To accomidate the older players the league could decrease the amount of games to something like 30 ish and have them play in minor league stadiums. Also games could be played in the afternoon so the players could still make the early bird special and not miss re-runs of murder she wrote. It would be a great opportunity for people to go out and see some of their favorite players in a more relaxed and more affordable atmosphere.

There actually was one like… 25? 30? years ago and was fun to watch here in Florida.. Might have been more years ago than that? was fun to go to ST stadiums and watch the old geezers play though.
Edit:
” watch the old geezers play though”
I can say that now..because I am one 😉

Oh, I totally remember that league now that you bring it up. Ron LeFlore, one of my favorite Tigers ever, played in it. I think that league must have happened in the late 1980s.
johnsilver
Yeah. Had to be like?? 45 or so age wise to play? Spaceman Lee was in it also. he was funny as ever when would talk to him.
Can’t recall many others for Boston.. Maybe Dalton Jones. Thing Boomer Scott might have been a player coach, but he was Huge (as in belly) then.

Well, he’ll go out with a career .309/.369/.502 triple-slash. That’s pretty damn good.
CandyMaldonadoLand
Agreed. If he wasn’t injured as much in the last few years, the numbers he could have compiled would have been even more impressive.

I will miss the Mag Man, one of my favorite tigers, remember all the fun things they came up with about his hair a couple of years back?
