Would Beinfest be a good fit for the Bosox? Henry is probably familiar with him from Marlins days.

I have a feeling there are going to be a few firings between now and the start of the offseason. This seems like it will be an off season of rolling heads.

Beinfest is a step above Minaya, hendry and Sabean… No chance he becomes GM in Boston.

why would Tony LaCava possibly leave The Jays to go to Boston? That would be quite a “step down”.
hawkny11
Boston needs someone in the front office who knows what they are doing. Obviously they have been searching. The introduction of LaCava as an “assistant” to the GM, may, in a few weeks, be changed to “acting” GM. We will see. If Cherington stays, LaCava will be Lucchino’s guy in that office, to keep tabs on Cherington’s movements. Kind of like backdooring the guy who back doored Larry’s manager all season long.

I’d say “The team he’s on in 2013” sounds like it Won’t be the Red Sox.
I’d also announce Bogar as Manager the day after WS is over, just to end any speculation and make it easier on us Red Sox fans.

Important note from the article: yes, Nick Cafardo realizes the Red Sox haven’t fired Valentine yet. However, I can’t confirm or deny rumors that he’s changing his middle name to Firebobbyvee.

Tim Bogar? Heck no
BlueJayfan5
Every time I read an article about the Red Sox looking to replace someone they are interested in a current Jays employee.. Its not like the Jays have been successful to want to raid them lol

what is that, twice now? freaky

Aceves is clearly not a closer, that was common sense from day one, but common sense isn’t something the Red Sox had a lot of lately.

If you remember, at the time, Bailey was on the 60-day DL and Cherington had already promised Bard the opportunity to start. Bobby V has had no choice other than to ask Ace to close. He has done so,admirably, even though he does not have the killer instincts of a closer. Ace is PO’ed because he thought the job was his permanently. Who can blame him? But I say, give it a few months to let tempers cool off, then talk to the man about coming back in 2013 in his old job of set up guy and sometimes starter.
