Desmond and Heyward are likely to not stick with their current teams. WAS can’t afford Desmond, Harper, and Strasburg. Braves chose Freeman over Heyward this offseason.

It really depends on what happens with the Nats/MASN arbitration case quagmire that Uncle Bud seems ready to pass on to his successor. Of course they won’t be able to keep all of them, but we would have a whole lot better picture of what they can do payroll wise if that mess was ever sorted out.

Uggla’s money comes off the books at the same time JUpton and Heyward become free agents. They will have plenty of money to spend to keep one of Heyward or JUpton long-term.
Wes Murry
2013 for Machado, not 2014.

Doesn’t Nolan Arenado belong on this list?

Nevermind, forgot he is with Boras,

I can see Parra, Machado, Belt, Seager, Segura, and Trumbo all signing long-term extensions, though I would stay away from Trumbo if I’m Arizona. I would be cautious with Segura, too, though I definitely think Parra, Machado, Belt and Seager are worthy of long, lucrative extensions.

Brian Dozier was worth more than 2.5 WAR no matter if your looking at Fangraphs (2.8) or BR (3.8). His start this year has made a believer out of me. He may get overlooked because of his average but he delivers everywhere else. Though I am not sure the Twins would be looking to extend him considering he is 27 will not be a FA for 5 years.

That 2.0-2.5 line in the last paragraph is probably a typo since I’m pretty sure Lagares and Murphy both exceeded 2.5 fWAR too, and I think the others all had 2.5+ too.

Where is Stanton?
Metsfan93
Wasn’t worth 2.5 WAR in 2013…? I think he had 2.4 per fangraphs.
