Didn’t Moustakas bat under .200 on the year ? Roberts can’t be much worse than that. I’m a White Sox fan, but I was a Royals fan this fall. They just didn’t have enough hitting to get it done. Shields choked in his 2 World Series starts. Allowing SF to win those games that Peavy and Hudson got shelled in cost them the World Series.

Royals beat Peavy in both of his starts. Game 2 and game 6. The only one they lost when Hudson started was game 7. The game that got away was Vargas’ start when we had them on the ropes and Finnegan let them bat around. What “cost them the World Series” was swinging at high out of the zone pitches against Bumgarner in game 7. Oh yeah, and Moose batted .212 for the season, but batted over .230 for the playoffs with 5 home runs in the post season. Roberts will be an upgrade over Jayson Nix though.

“Choked” is a bit strong. Poor game 1, but he had a QS and kept KC in the game for Game 5. Some guy named MadBum was just flat out nasty and pitched better.
Steve Corbett
Roberts still has gas in the tank. I was actually surprised the Red Sox didn’t bring him back up later in the season.

“Big Dame James” couldn’t get W in either W.S. game he started. If your going to win it all your supposed #1 has to win. Yordano Ventura is the true #1 starter on that team. .212 doesn’t get you into my line-up, unless your hitting 45 HR’s. I wouldn’t offer Shields 5 mil a year, especially with K.C.’s budget. I’ll give him the award for most unoriginal nickname though, Big Game James is James Worthy’s nickname
