Before Pollock gets an extension, I would have to think they would rework Goldschmidt’s contract first.

Goldschmidt is under contract four more years at a great price. He’ll be 32 when his current contract ends. The Diamondbacks are in a perfect position with Goldschmidt, I see no reason to extend him unless it’s coming at a big discount.

The front office has already talked about extending while also paying him more than his current contract.

That doesn’t make it a good idea.

agreed 100%. When he becomes a FA he’ll be 32—-a time when players start to fade. Why do it? The Cardinals let Albert go and as great a Redbird he was, it was the right move. He hasn’t been a bust in LA but he’s hardly producing AP numbers.

Either way, those two have to be our core for the foreseeable future.

Keeping Pollock over Eaton was a smart move.

Pollock has to be the most underrated player in the game. Hes going to end up with a hefty price for his 3 arb years.
