Wow. So, it’s come to this for the Tigers? I think this is the point where we say this team is a walking Murphy’s Law.
bobbleheadguru
Well Joba Chamberlain is not going to start for them on Saturday. There is still a lot of room for Murphy’s Law.
woodhead1986
he’s only there so they don’t have to burn up the service time of Fulmer. Smart choice.
bobbleheadguru
He does not appear ready yet.
woodhead1986
he’s been stellar at AA and I believe Jon Heyman had heard/suggested he could be brought up to take some starts in Norris’ absence.

Call Dombrowski! Ask if he will trade Porcello for Iglesais, even up.
Johnny Shoe
Ahhh another salary dump for the Sawx.
bobbleheadguru
Really? The Tigers will just trade a .300 hitting All Star SS, who is also the best defensive infielder in the American league, being paid near league minimum for middle/bottom of the rotation starter that is being paid $21MM/year for the next 4 years?
Porcello is being paid about 40X the salary of Iglesias, just to give some perspective.

After the lunacy of how umpire Jim Wolf handled the game vs. the Royals a few weeks ago where Jays pitchers were repeatedly hit by pitches but it was a Jays pitcher (and manager Gibbons) that got ejected, it really was only a matter of time until Jim’s brother Randy was disposed of by the team.
If anything, the surprise of it is that he is likely replacing the injured Daniel Norris in the Tigers’ starting rotation. All of this would’ve sounded ridiculous a month ago, but that’s baseball.

Really? If it were because of that they would have just released him outright. Randy wanted an MLB opportunity and the Jays were classy enough to let him go to a team that really needed him.

This is one of the worst theories I have ever heard. The Jays got rid of a player because they didn’t like the way his brother umpired a game? And they waited weeks to do so?
Please.
Dock_Elvis
Yep. If baseball family infighting effected the game on much of any level it would totally implode
Phillies2017
Not a bad low risk move for Detroit. They need to focus on starting pitching this offseason.
