Shut fernandez down. And now the braves have an excuse to get the extra year on albies.

Albies should’ve been called up to MLB, he’s proven himself more than Dansby did over the year, and what’s the harm in bringing in a 19 year old for a month? He dominated spring training and it seems that he thrives in pressure situations. Should definitely be starting 2B on Opening Day.

The issue is that 1) he is still just 19 years old. That’s very young for a major leaguer. It’s not unheard of but they want to be more cautious. 2) He tore up AA but when they promoted him to AAA he struggled. It wasn’t any reason to question his ability or his future but it was enough to think he may need a little more time.

Not to mention the fact that they obviously want Albies to play 2B, and there wasn’t as much of a hole there on the major league team than SS Aybar after trading him away. Sure, Jace Peterson and d’Arnaud are not the long (or even short) term answers, but Aybar wasn’t going to be on the 2017 team (FA at end of season) and they could get something (anything is a miracle) for him, plus opening up the natural position for a 22-year old Swanson.
Albies had a great overall year, but they transitioned him rather late to 2B from SS and he wasn’t lighting the world on fire at AAA. But again, he is 19! He’s years ahead of where he should be, which means you can take your time with his development and hope to get the most of his prime years.

Uh, 1 more year of control over a player’s prime years? Is that hard to get?
See cubs – Re: Kris Bryant. Though Albies has no chance to be as productive as KB in an arbitration sense.

Good for Peraza from a Braves fan. I was writing him off mostly because his success is salt in the wound that Olivera opened. All things aside, it’s nice to see something good come from that trade with Wood comfortable on the DL.

Wow stay classy would be a gross understatement.

Sorry wishing a player well is taken with the perception of ill-intent. Calm down.

What’s up with people lately and taken things the wrong way? You clearly are glad to see Peraza playing well.
