Major League free agents became eligible to sign with other teams on Thursday, but the minor league free agent market has technically been open since season’s end. MLBTR has published several posts detailing players who had already elected to become minor free agents, but Baseball America’s Matt Eddy (multiple links) has the full account of all the minor league free agents that officially joined their big league counterparts on the open market on Thursday.
This list details only players who have played in the Major Leagues, and whose minor league free agency hasn’t already been covered on MLBTR in the last month.

Wow. That’s a lot of once-wases, never-wases, and reclamation projects. I even see a GG winner.
No kidding. Lots of once very promising names. Crazy
teams tend to keep those guys around way too long. if you ever showed that you belong in the bigs, you are going to be getting shots until your early 30ies.
And the arch-villain Mantiply, a devious devil capable of multiplicative manfullness.
This is a legendary list for ball knowers
Draft an expansion team out of this lot. Or 3 teams
I’m floored that Delino DeShields has stuck around this long. There’s a blast from the past if there ever was one.
I’m convinced there was a greater reason for his signing by the Nats. He was kept in AA where his dad was managing.
Such a bizarre group of players, guys I had no idea were still around or trying to be. Pint, Naquin, Deshields, Plesac, Arroyo.
That looks like the majority of the 2019 MLB Top 100 Prosepects list.
Drew Rom. I think the Cards got him from WAS, and they expected big things from him. Just never put it all together.
Got him from Baltimore in the Jack Flaherty trade
No idea what happened to Eloy Jimenez. He was always an injury-prone, terrible defensive outfielder, but I never thought he’d completely lose the ability to hit at 27 or 28. He is getting the bat knocked out of his hands in the Dominican Winter League?
Matt Manning & Beau Burrows…two former # 1 picks by the Tigers. Plus Michael Filmer was was the 2016 ROY playing for the Tigers. These 3 sum up the what was and what could have been for Tigers pitching of late!
Add Turnbull & Funkhouser. My quick count has 17 former Tigers listed
Tejay Antone will probably be back on a minor league deal but none of the rest. In January and February, the Reds will be dumpster diving with the rest who are left and inviting to camp, hoping they can fill out the roster with cheap guys.
History proves it.
Rios could be
Michael Grove was outrighted to triple-A just a couple of days ago. Surprised to find him on this list.
If a team could figure out Sam Huff they’d have a crazy catcher with control that’s only 27.
Never really has been given a consistent chance for playing time, but has been a bit of a head-case when he does play.
Beau Taylor isn’t playing anymore as past 2 season when he sign a minor league deal, he is a minor league coach as place on development list but in reality is a minor league coach with Tacoma Rainiers for past 2 season..
Wouldn’t mind seeing the Tigers kick the tires on Ian Anderson. See what Fetter can do with him.
If the Rockies could pick 26 of those players they would probably have a better record next year.
Ya, ya, ya. You’re only upset because it’s true.
Thanks to Jerry’s machinations, it feels like 30% of these folks have seen major league time with the Mariners.
Odd Nats are letting Yepez go. He played well for them and it’s not like they have anyone better to play 3B.
He did terrible in AAA this season. It was surprising to see him DFA’d at the beginning of the year though.
