The Cubs with Damon's arm in RF would be a beautiful thing.
lol

as an Indians fan, we will gladly take rios for nothing

Why are all of the Cubs rumors so depressing? Oh yeah, because Hendry is still the GM.

That deal would be apocalyptic for the Blue Jays. Wasn't there just discussion about Rios for Bedard? And now it's somehow down to Cliff Lee!?

Damon would have to be CF - lost some of his range, arm is iffy at best but wouldn't be bad LH leadoff guy in front of Sori. Move Pie to rf? Cubs get Damon then Pie should be able to get some more time in minors - I don't understand the importance in having to have him up asap its not like he is 28yrs old. If we Get Fukudome for rf then pie can be sept call up or 4th OF.
Damon - cf
Sori - lf
Lee - 1b
Ramirez - 3b
Fukudome- rf
Derosa - 2b
Soto-c
theriot - ss
not horrible by any means

JP might deserve some of the harsh comments that come his way, but he isn't stupid enough to trade Rios for that little. If he was serious about shopping Alex Rios, JP would be better off making him the centerpiece of a package for Johan Santana. The Jays have a wealth of good young pitchers that are more than good enough when combined with Rios to make a package that would at least make the Twins pause for a moment...
Talking to the Indians for those players is a waste of time! The Jays can get a lot better from other teams than that... and I hope that rumor is gunned down very quickly.

Lee is still very valuable. 14, 18, 14 wins before this past season. He's relatively inexpensive as well. Guit is an excellent defender with average offensive skills.

this cant be F'n serious. Rios for Lee and Gutierrez? not even close to being valuable for the Jays, not even close!
no doubt this was offered by the Indians GM, and then Jays GM Ricciardi would have had to leave the toom as to not upset Indians GM when he broke out into laughter.
Cliff Lee is so overrated. look at his numbers, hes a borderline #3 SP at best.
Rios is a star! hes not being traded for Lee and Gutierrez.

Well... it was good while it lasted.

Is Kelly Gruber available?

If Rios could be had for that much, he would be PERFECT for the Cubs RF spot. He is a lefty, right? However, its too good to be true, Rios is way too good for that crap return.

Rios bats Right handed.

Joel Sherman should be fired.

Thank you, Bob Elliot. As a Jays fan, that deal would've given me a heart attack.
