Today we have two new videos for you.
- Click here to see my latest video mailbag. Topics such as Barry Zito, K-Rod, and possible Padre trade acquisitions are covered. Note: there is one outdated Matt Morris question in there.
- Click here to see the latest MLB Roundup. My section is about #1-2 starters who may be available come July. Plus, Michael Barnett looks at Koji Uehara.

Hopefully by June 1. I probably shouldn't have brought it up on the site because I am pretty bad with deadlines!

For the record, Uehara was sent down to the farm on Sunday. Yomiuri wants him to work on his mechanics.

Did I hear you say Petco is a Hitters park? I mean Petco is likely the biggest Pitchers park in the majors.

If I did, it was an obvious slip of the tongue.

That is one of the deepest outfields there is. It saps power like nobody's business. I think you're likely to see 5-10 HR differential in stats for hitters depending on the hitter.
Zito is an interesting case. He has one of the soundest deiveries around for a big man. But part of the reason for his stamina is because he doesn't have the whip action at the top of his release that you see with 90+ mph throwers. Zito always has been the kind of pitcher who sort of throws a hard changeup where the ball just comes out of the hand while the arm is moving fast, rather than, say, a fireballer who keeps the wrist and elbow cocked a little during the motion in order to whip it at the last moment. This might sound all well and good but, this has a lot to do with his game. It is no wonder seeing this from a changeup and curve specialist. Both pitches are intended to look identical to the fastball, by design. If he were to start whipping the ball in an unnatural motion for him, he starts tipping his pitches.

I personally don't think Zito's problem is velocity. I think his location and deception is deteriorating. His delivery is not quite the same as it was during his peak years in Oakland. And he is keeping the ball up.

Morris though is another case entirely. He's not only just another Russ Ortiz. I think he's worse. Ortiz sucked when he was trying to come back but at least with him the problem was more nuanced. Morris is not even a major league pitcher anymore. His stuff and velocity has deteriorated so badly that he might get shelled in the minors at this point. 80-85 mph fastballs and 75 mph flat breaking balls just won't cut it.
