« Montero Drawing Interest | Main | Marlins, Pavano Have Mutual Interest »
Yesterday, Yahoo's Tim Brown suggested the Nationals and Jim Bowden were "promising everyone they're going to be players in the Manny bidding." However, Bowden sent an email to MLB.com's Bill Ladson today: "We are not pursuing Manny Ramirez."
Ladson says the Nationals are still in the market for a lefthanded slugger - Mark Teixeira, Adam Dunn, and Prince Fielder remain on the radar. And despite their abundance of outfielders, they've expressed interest in new Rockie Carlos Gonzalez.

I think Brown must have mixed up Ramirez and Texiera, only explanation that makes sense.
I wonder what truth there is to the 10yr $200 offer discussed on fox sports? With the Dodgers offering Manny $22.5 mil a year I think that yearly dollar figure is your new benchmark for Texiera.

The Brewers should pursue young Wisconsin native Jordan Zimmermann RHP who is the Nationals best pitching prospect in a possible trade with Prince Fielder.

brewcrew- while zimmerman is a good prospect, i think the brewers can do better for fielder

What the hell. I hope the Nationals realize this isn't co-ed softball. You can't play with 4 OF's. I'll tell you what, if I were Kenny Williams I would be looking to deal for Elijah Dukes...Javier Vasquez for Dukes straight up!

Nats have some other good prospects, I could see them doing a good pitching prospect centered package with 3 other alright guys for Prince if they don't get their hands on Tex(which I'm already doubting).
Dunn would be overkill for what they already have. As a Brewer fan, I'm willing to let go of Prince for current team needs, and I'm sure the Nats could use a big bat like that.

There is not a chance in hell that the Nats would trade Jordan Zimmerman. For as depleted as the farm system is, he is one of the most major league-ready arms they have and he isn't going anywhere.

Also, of those OFs, the ones most likely to get dealt are Willy Mo and Kearns. Bowden and Manny love Dukes and Milledge, and I doubt either will move as well.
