« Boras Has Offers For Teixeira | Main | Looking Beyond Varitek »
WEDNESDAY: Newsday's Ken Davidoff talked to a Dodgers official who said it's unlikely they will sign Pettitte.
TUESDAY: According to Ken Rosenthal, free agent lefty Andy Pettitte spoke to Joe Torre multiple times about the possibility of signing with the Dodgers. Rosenthal notes that Pettitte has a history of leaving when he doesn't feel wanted, and the Yankees are taking a laid-back approach toward him this winter. Still, the Yankees remain Pettitte's first choice. Rosenthal does not see Pettitte returning to Houston.

Good, and they're draft pick is unprotected. They need to give the 5 spot to a young kid. in all likely hood he goes to the Stros though.

"Who would you rather have, Johnson or Pettitte? Also, assume that Pettitte will cost a few million more."
Unit in a heart beat. Pettitte has never been as good as his reputation and Johnson is a legitimate box office draw that will easily pay for himself, which is something The Parking Lot Attendant likes.

This would be sweet. Anything that would limit the Yankees short term options for SP is good news to my ears. Hopefully the Yanks sign Burnett and Lowe to long term deals!

I'm pretty sure Pettitte wants to pitch for the Yanks still, I believe he said they were his first option. Now that the Yanks aren't showing him any love, he has to check out his options. I would love for Andy to go to the NL again, I absolutely hate it when he takes the rubber vs. the Red Sox.
