Jimbo's trade history is so mixed that this spreadsheet might be Tim's way of helping him get a new job, or of making sure he's never hired again. Sometimes Trader Jim could pick up giant steals (for Luis Ayala, Ryan Church, a backup catcher, a utility infielder, and a single-A relief pitching prospect, Jim acquired half of the Nationals' 2009 starters). Sometimes his moves resulted in catastrophe (like the Felipe Lopez deal).

I think I will keep this one as a baseline against which to rate our new GM, be that Rizzo, LaCava, or a wildcard.

Hey remember that one trade where Bowden dealt for a once-hot OF prospect who was past his sell-by date, even though he already had a crowded OF?

Sour Bob,
I believe that once-hot OF prospect you are referring to is Jose Guillen.
Jose Guillen eventually brought in Aaron Harang via.
I'd call that a good thing, wouldnt you?
