    And, the complaining begins.

Hell yeah. Finally got my first answered question in over a year and a half of sending them. Hah!

“Heyman is in good with Boras”. If you guys knew one-half of what you think you know, you’d be reasonably dangerous. The fact of the matter is, Boras doesn’t negotiate ALL of the contracts for ALL of his players. No matter what Heyman hears, the reality is often much, much different. Remember that…

What are you talking about? When someone refers to Scott Boras, they are referring to his agency group, not always the man himself. When Tim said “Heyman is in good with Boras” he meant nothing more than Heyman is able to source Boras’ group frequently.

Trust me, you do not know how some of these negotiations work. I can attest that one of those mentioned in chat has not used Boras nor any of his employees as his representative this offseason despite the fact that Boras is his “agent”. Trust me on that. Sometimes you guys believe everything you see in print and also assume that normal business practices are employed throughout. Here’s a clue…neither of those are accurate.

Twins in the mix for best rotations in baseball? Considering they’re essentially the same rotation that posted the 17th best FIP in 2009? I must have missed something here…

Baker/Slowey/Blackburn all guys still progressing, and Baker/Slowey in particular with considerable projected upside still to go.

I’ve been high on Slowey all offseason, and getting blasted for it by everyone. Nice to see Tim acknowledge he expects a sub 4.00 ERA out of the guy.

    • It’s the same rotation, but with a full year of Pavano, a healthy Slowey, and an intriguing Liriano. Those are big differences.

        “a full year of Pavano”

        .294 BAA, 5+ ERA, 1.37 WHIP.
        Your Point?

I’m not on the Liriano bandwagon…he’s never even come close to pitching 150 ML innings in his career. Another HUGE question with this rotation is how they will have to adapt to pitching outdoors and without Carlos Gomez patrolling CF.
