According to MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan, the Rangers "may explore interest" in Aaron Miles, recently released by the Cincinnati Reds.
Miles could fill in for the injured Ian Kinsler, though he'd be unlikely to approach anything like Kinsler's production.
For instance, Miles has 16 career home runs in 2,423 plate appearances. Kinsler hit 31 home runs in the 2009 season alone.
Sullivan says that Miles would likely begin at Triple-A.
How do you “explore interest” in something?
Ohhh, wait – they going to investigate how others could ever have interest in Miles?
“Sullivan says that Miles would likely begin at Triple-A” Why? Just to prove Aaron Miles can’t hit triple-A pitching either before you bring him back to the major leagues?
Aaron Miles? Seriously? The guy who doesn’t walk, has no power, doesn’t hit for average, doesn’t have above-average speed, and doesn’t play any defensive position particularly well?
Aaron Miles??? No way. No way! Terrible thought. No point in it at all.
