The Angels had picks 24 (Randy Grichuk) and 25 (Trout) that year, and they’ve claimed they would have taken Trout had they had only 1 of those. FWIW.

I gotta agree here as well bring Shoppach back and get another young catcher via trade because Thole just isn’t going to cut it he’s had his shot the past 2 years and didn’t get it done….

And when you look at the players Texas got in return when he turned down their massive $140mm offer, the best thing Tex ever did for his teams was not sign with them.
