Why the constant unending obsession with trading Duran? Just don’t get it.
Duran got a lot of trade buzz during the deadline and Red Sox had a lot of outfielders on their roster, so he kind of fit the bill for a possible trade.
Plus he’s 30 next season. I dont think a trade of Duran is outside the realm of possibility, but that’s assuming Red Sox FO perspective.
It’s another case of the baseball press trying to will something into existence.
Because he’s a sell high player if I’ve seen one. Duran is a declining asset.
They almost have to trade either Duran or Abreu.
Abreu has one more year of control, and is almost three years younger
I’m also thinking that Duran might have a better market since he can be sold as a CF, and is considered a full timer, whereas Abreu might be considered a platoon player by some team.s
Abreyu is three years younger than Duran and has one more year of control than Duran. There isn’t room for both on the roster with Rafaella and Anthony, neither of whom are going anywhere. You could move Roman to 1B but then what do you do with Casas? Somebody’s got to go, and it’ll probably be an outfielder.
Anything that Marquee mouthpiece Bruce Levine “reports” (in this case, the Cease rumors) should be taken with a very tiny grain of salt. Throughout the 2025 regular season, he kept saying that the Cubs were on the verge of making a major trade and…nothing ever happened.
How dare you, Steve. I love candy corn.
Angels Offseason: Window Shopping While Arte’s in the soup line
It’s that magical time again MLB free agency, when fans dream big and owners dream…of savings. The market’s stacked with talent: Pete Alonso, Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman, Blake Snell, Juan Soto, and more. But if you’re an Angels fan, you know the drill. Arte Moreno isn’t breaking the piggy bank he’s guarding it like it’s the last Twinkie in a fallout shelter.
While other teams are out there bidding on filet mignon, we’re sniffing the expired bread rack. It’s like watching kids press their noses against the candy store window, knowing full well they’re walking out with a Werther’s Original from grandma’s purse.
So here’s your offseason bingo card:
Rumor: Angels linked to a top-tier bat. Reality: We sign a guy who hit .212 in Triple-A and “has upside.”
Arte quote: “We’re committed to building a competitive team.”
Translation: “We’re committed to spending less than the Chicago Cubs parking budget.”
The song remains the same the chant
((((( Sell The Team )))))
Same said for the cubs and Jed hoyer and rickets!
Jays need to figure out if Barger is their RF or 3B moving forward.
