Jays Interested In David Wells
Ken Rosenthal brings up the possibility that the Blue Jays would entertain bringing 44 year-old lefty David Wells back for a third stint. The interest is mutual, as Wells would be willing to play in Toronto.
However, Wells's agent meets with Padres GM Kevin Towers today and San Diego is the clear frontrunner. The Jays could really use one more vet in the rotation, though. Wonder if Boomer would consider a return to Cincinnati? Did he have fun there?

I wouldn't waste money on him, and that seems like its the only reason he'd come. Max 4 million.

He'd give you some good starts and come playoff time, if still healthy, he'd be an asset.

Maybe Boston can bring him back and trade him at the break again for another decent catching prospect.

David Wells hates Toronto, and Toronto hates David Wells. I thought that was common knowledge? Maybe that's because I live in Toronto haha.

i dont know why the Jays would have any interest in Wells. not only would he not pitch well, but Wells hate for Toronto has been well known so its not exactly a good PR move.
look at his numbers with Boston, are you kidding me Toronto? forget Wells, hes nothing!

Wells' season in Boston in 2006 was ruined by injury. Knee injury, then the line drive to the knee when he came back..
But He still wasn't exactly bad.
When he got healthy in August (5 starts) for Boston he went 2-2, 2.65 ERA, being the only reason the Sox were able to trade the guy anyway. If Boston had Papi and Manny playing it would probably have been 5-0.
I really don't see him going to Toronto, but he wouldn't be a bad choice for him. And Being a lefty, not always a bad thing to put up against Boston/NY

After all those drugs, beers, fights and hamburgers, it's amazing that Boomer is even walking around still.

If memory serves me last time Wells left Toronto he publicly took shots at the city. However I'm in the business of wanting a world series over caring about having 1 player I don't like.
