Hi. I'm Joe. Tim is busy today, so I'll be filling in. You can send any tips right to my email. So onto a few morning tidbits.
Tom Glavine. His agent, Gregg Clifton, thinks "it's a good possibility" that a deal gets done today.
Joe Pawlikowski is a co-author of River Ave. Blues, a New York Yankees blog.

Hey joe nice work...you might want to finish the first sentence in this post, by writting in "tom Glavine"
Mike Lowell Update:"Still, the chances that Lowell would become the Yankees' starting first baseman remained remote Friday, as four other clubs -- not including the Red Sox -- have expressed interest in having Lowell as their third baseman, sources said."
"The Dodgers have become a prominent club in the Lowell sweepstakes, and the Angels are said to be focusing on trading for Florida's Miguel Cabrera"

Mike Lowell is the perfect Ned Colletti free agent. Colletti loves to overpay and hand out too many years.
The same goes for Aaron Rowand, Colletti is gonna give this guy too much money and too many years. He hasn't learned his lesson from the Pierre and Schmidt signings.
As a Dodger fan, I have been going to fewer games every year since the McCourts bought the team. Aaron Rowand or Mike Lowell won't get me to Dodger Stadium.

while i dont think that a 34 year old should never be making that much over a 4 year contract, i think Lowell is perfect for Dodgers. This guy helps groom young players(see Dustin Pedroia)and a great club house guy, for a team that had a lot of club house problems. While I dont think he makes sense for anyone with the contract he is demanding, i think he makes the most sense for the Dodgers out of everyone.

I think Clark would be a great fit the for the Twins. A Clark/Monroe platoon at DH could put up an .800 OPS, which is a HUGE upgrade for the Twins' DH position over the last 5 years.
If they can get one more bench bat, get Hunter or a replacement like Cameron or Rowand to sign, and trade for a real 3b like Tracy, the Twins will be one of the favorites for the World Series next year with that SICK staff of theirs, which figures to be the best in the majors next year.

Yes that's brilliant, sign another ex-redsox to an albatross contract because he's good in the clubhouse. The solution to the clubhouse problem is simple. 1) Remove Jeff Kent 2) you're done.

Tony Clark and Cliff Floyd are good clubhouse guys, but they arent lookingfor 4/60. A floyd signing forthe dogers would be horrendous. His line would probably drop down to .275/.335/.450

hey guys i wasn't saying the dodgers should sign Lowell. I was just saying that he can do a lot for this team in other ways. I said its not a good idea but i can see Ned going "well he is good with the young players, great in the club house, and he hits .324, whats not to love?"
the reality is that Mike Lowell's season that he had in 07 has a zero percent chance of repeating itself if he is not in Boston or Philly.

The Dodgers adding Rowand would be such a stupid decision. He's not as good as the way he played last year, and when you consider they already have three outfielders, it would take a top flight guy to be worth it and there is no way Rowand is that. Andruw Jones would make more sense, at least he has the raw talent to bounce back

Scribbletone, your are right. If the DOdgers spend the money, Jones should be the guy to go after. I just don't understand Colletti's philosophy.
