I think Reagins is demented. The Garland deal was OK but the Hunter contract is God awful and he passed up several opportunities to get Miggy Cabs. Still.... I mean where do the trades stop? Don't let it all out at once boys

Perhaps Figgins to the Giants for lincecum, Cain, Zito, Lowry, and Fred Lewis?

hahah nice haaa..i think the talks to the twins was a possible brandon wood and ervin santana or jered weaver for JUSTIN MORNEAU?? ehhhh

Be realistic Johan, Figgins isn't over 35, why would Sabean want him?

Tim, this post needs an "every single last player in baseball" tag on it. If his month as GM has taught us anything, it's that Reagins being in talks with other teams means that pretty much everyone and anyone could potentially be involved.

Reagins will say he is in on talks. And then do nothing. Just like his predecessor. At least we still have Ervin to mop up in the bullpen.

No chance minny trades Mauer or Morneau. The public would refuse to go to any Twins games. Trust me, I live near MSP.

actually scratch the pitchers maybe kotchman wood and maybe a throw in like izturis
Posted by: WilllGoAngels27 | December 04, 2007 at 06:54 PM
I don't think that's nearly enough for such a young player that won last year's MVP.
Posted by: gogopalehose | December 04, 2007 at 06:55 PM
But its about the future i mean if the twins do want to trade morneau the angels will go after him...
Posted by: WilllGoAngels27 | December 04, 2007 at 06:56 PM
I could still see the angels and twins possibly talking about morneau if an extenstion seems to not be likely. However, the twins may not need to trade him after this trade
Posted by: bravesbeast | December 04, 2007 at 06:57 PM
gogo who would you want??
Posted by: WilllGoAngels27 | December 04, 2007 at 06:57 PM
Angels have to pick up an infield slugger. Really wish they would have got Cabrera but they have enough players that they can trade away to put together a package almost any team would be interested in talking about.

I think that if the Twins were to deal Morneau to the Angels, it'd probably be something like Casey Kotchman, Nick Adenhart and Erick Aybar. Brandon Wood would likely be discussed too, but I can't see how Jered Weaver would be moved.

Once the Twins trade Santana they will be looking for quality young MLB ready starters and the Angels have room to move one of their young starters. Definitely wouldnt mind seeing Morneau in a Angels uniform.

you've got to figure, if it is Morneau, then a CF is probably involved... or at least some kind of outfielder.
from the sound of the article, somebody wants our pitchers and outfielders. i just hope we get either a 3B or a SS... we have a HUGE gaping hole on that side of the infield

I could see Wood, Aybar, Kotchman, Willits, pitcher for Morneau
Dont hold your breath

"I could see Wood, Aybar, Kotchman, Willits, pitcher for Morneau"
Thats wayy too much for Morneau. Kotchman is already an above average first baseman, and the difference between those two guys is not even close to Wood, Aybar, Willits and a pitcher. I think it'd be either Kotchman, Aybar, Willits, Saunders or Kotchman, Wood, Willits.

Im obviously an Angels fan... but, as much as I would like to see Morneau in an Angels uniform, it's not going to happen.
Johan isn't out of the question though...

Morneau is a Gold glove winner also ppl? o and i think he was a mvp at some point right??? I think kotchman glove for morneau glove is pretty even the rest is just gettin his bat like aybar or wood and sauders

I am very disappointed the Angels didn't get Miguel Cabrera. It was a once in a lifetime oppurtunity and the Angels should of made more of an effort to get him. If Santana doesn't get start to show why we didn't trade him. If he reverts to this year form. This will go down as the biggest franchise disappointment. I know it seems I am talking like a pissed off Angels fan, but and I am. Whatever, If they don't do anything else, this offseason screw them. Trading away Orlando and overpaying for hunter. Wow.

Count me amongst the crest-fallen Angel fans. Players as young and talented and cheap as Cabrera don't come around every day... the Angels should have closed the deal... or expanded it to include Willis.
Not sure what other bats are out there.... hope they don't overpay for Tejada.

You can be disappointed about not landing Miggy ... not me. I would have LOVED to have him hitting in the middle of the lineup. I would NOT have loved his horrible defense, $25m+ year contract, and losing Kendrick and Adenhart.
Morneau is great but seriously people ... Kotchman is hardly a slouch. He won't put up 35-40 HR's but he is certainly capable of .320 with 15-20 HR's. Morneau is an upgrade but not to the tune of Adenhart, Wood, Willits, etc.

2007 OPS - Kotchman 839 / Morneau 835.
Kotchman is a GG 1st baseman with a career minor league OPS of 900. He will be fine. Just not as sexy as a guy who can hit the long ball.

Bjsguess if we can get morneau for kotch.reggie, and wood we can put him at 4th spot and he would provide imidate protection for vladyy

@andrewh11882
how about, instead of sticking to a baseless stereotype about what the angels' previous general manager did, you address the CURRENT general manager who is (surprise!) dealing and moving around more than stoneman ever did. your comment makes no freakin' sense.
