Yankees Contact Mahay, Vizcaino
Yankees GM Brian Cashman contacted the agents for free agent relievers Ron Mahay and Luis Vizcaino today. It's possible he'll make an offer to Mahay soon.
Mahay is said to be after a three year, $12MM deal, probably the top of the Yankees' price range for him. Here's a summary of the other teams pursuing him.
The Viz might look at the Scott Linebrink signing and demand something near four years, $19MM. The only other team I can find linked to Vizcaino is the Rangers.

Viz Away ~ 2.77 ERA, 1.282 WHIP, .210/.315/.348 line against in 39IP
STAY AWAY FROM THE BRONX MAN!!!
This guy will be dooming his career if he stays in NY, the warning flags are flaying high…

Hopefully Vizcaino ends up back with the MFY if for no other reason than their compensation pick would be 47 and the Sox have 48.

We need The Viz again.. he was pretty vital for us last year. For that matter, we need all the bullpen we can get. Hopefully the Cash man can get them both.

Let's see...we have Duncan, Hideki, Damon, Melky, Abreu in the outfield...are we playing softball? With the first base situation -- well, you can't DH everybody! What can we get for our excess? Relief?

Giambi WILL get hurt or just suck, i wish they'd cut him and sign Sean Casey to platoon w/Duncan. they still need a MLB 4th OF, not some AAAA guy
