Peavy and Webb get a lot of attention in the NL, but I'm going with the newest D-back, Dan Haren.

AL: Erik Bedard
Runner up: Jeremy Bonderman (comeback year)

NL: Dan Haren
Runner up: Jake Peavy

AL: Sabathia

I don't think Santana will be effective in his first year in NL. Maybe next year, but he will have some adjustment problems since he has not pitched in NL before.

NL: Hudson

Bedard as a runner up or winner? What are all of you smoking?!

Were smokin the ol'american mlb, playa.

AL-Halladay
Runner up - Bedard

NL- Webb
Runner up - Harang, he's got a better bullpen behind him, so he shouldn't get as many blown wins as he did last year.

*=interchangeble

AL: Halladay

NL: Roy Oswalt (25 wins)
runner-up: Brett Myers

AL:
Winner: Justin Verlander
2nd: Erik Bedard
3rd: Josh Beckett
NL:
Winner: Johan Santana
2nd: Jake Peavy
3rd: Carlos Zambrano

This just doesn't seem like a year with any real breakout guys to that extent. McGowan could be a monster but I'm not quite sure he could outpitch guys like Verlander, Bedard and Beckett

Brad Penny will unanimously win the NL Cy Young, because he loses only twice this year.

Yeah I'd put Penny in the top 5 with Webb. Any of those five guys could win it. Big Z and Penny looked awesome today.

AL Beckett
Runner up :Verlander

NL Penny
Runner up Santana

AL: King Felix

NL: Johan Santana

Santana without a doubt in the NL. I can't believe the lack of respect Johan gets from some people on this site. Jake Peavy had a career year last year and struck out 240. Johan had arguably his worst year as a pro and finished with 235 K's. Keep in mind this was with Peavy facing a pitcher and a defensive specialist at the bottom of many NL lineups, while Johan is facing the DH in the AL. When you look at Santana's interleague stats, he K's pitchers at an alarming rate. How many K's would Santana have finished with if he was pitching in the NL, 260? 270? 280? I guess we'll find out this year.

PLUS Santana finished 1-4 in his final six starts for the Twins last year. Personally, I think he stopped giving much of a *&(*#& about the Twins after we traded Castillo and were going to let Hunter walk. The front office here has no commitment to you unless you are a light-hitting, oft-injured catcher that just happened to be born in Saint Paul. Can you really blame Johan for mailing it in?

So he goes from a weak offensive team in the AL, playing in one of the toughest divisions in baseball...to a powerhouse lineup in the NL, and you still want to talk about Oswalt, Peavy, Haren, Webb for NL Cy Young? Come on. Those guys are great pitchers no doubt, but Santana is a better hurler and the move to the Mets will only help him. He will dominate this year.

NL: Big Z
Runner-Up: Santana

AL: Harden
Runner-Up: King Felix

AL: Wang
Verlander

NL: Santana
Webb

AL: Bedard
Runner-up: Harden

NL: Hamels
Runner-up: Santana

NL: Cole Hamels
2nd: Jake Peavy
3rd: Dan Haren

I think Tim Lincecum is going to be at the bottom of the list.

AL: Felix Hernandez
2nd: Justin Verlander
3rd: Daisuke Matsuzaka

Matsuzaka may be surprising, but I think he is comfortable this year and puts up outstanding numbers. I think he'll be in the running somewhere. I am still concerned about Bedard's ability to stay healthy, but with the pressure off Felix, I think he breaks out in a big way this year.
