"I thought the Unit looked respectable last night, though it's hard to gauge against the Giants."

HEY! The Giants have a better record than the almighty Tigers!

And regarding the Howard trade, at first I was thinking, "no way the Phils should do that." But that guy was seriously convincing. The Phils should trade him yesterday!

A team as stacked with talent as the Phils can afford to "lose" a player like Howard in order to rake in the reward of a big haul. Of course, I'm not a Phillies fan, and fandom would most likely play a huge factor in how one would/ should view this concept.

Side note on Schilling - the D-backs recently announced their all 10th anniversary team (voted by the fans), and Brandon Webb was chosen over Schilling for the team's right-handed starter. I'm not totally surprised, but think fans sometimes forget just how vital he was to that '01 team.

As a REds fan, it is NOT surprising that CIncinnati is interested in Mike Piazza. After seven straight LOSING seasons, I have come to expect things like this.

The Reds have a chance to IMPROVE thier team by trading for Bengie Molina, while probably not hving to give up too much and yet they go for the over-the-hill scrap heap player like Piazza.

Ten years ago this move might have made sense but not now, especially if he is expected to be an everyday Catcher. Heck, even a platoon Catcher isn't a good situation for him.

I can't WAIT for Neifi perez o come in and take over for Edwi Encarnacion. I also can't wait for Dunn and KGJ to be traded (no sarcasm, that is the TRUTH!!). However, instead of Jay Bruce and some other young, productive players to take their place, I expect the Reds to sign Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa. That way, the Outfield would be Barry Bonds in LF, Patterson in CF and Sammy Sosa in RF.
