Tim,
I thought you didn't follow managerial changes on MLBTR?
This site is becoming less and less about just trade rumors. Not that I have a problem.

I thought this site was pretty much about whatever Tim wanted to write about.

Have fun with that, Brewers.

GM's, Managers, Major League players, and minor league (and draft) acquisitions/trades are all very relevant to a "trade rumors" site. This is ultimately all about baseball personnel moving around the industry, and alot of data, stats, conjecture, rumors, opinions, etc. supporting that.
All of these moves do affect the make up of a team which is what most readers are interested in.

We established a while ago that I would provide a brief post on the manager signings (and not cover the rumors).

Haha... sucks to be a Brewer fan.

As a Cubs fan, I am more than fine with this! They get another mediocre manager and we get to keep our broadcaster!

why is everyone so down on Macha, he won 89 or more games every year in Oakland with only a medium sized payroll

Everyone knows it's Billy Beane who runs the show in Oakland...

"why is everyone so down on Macha, he won 89 or more games every year in Oakland with only a medium sized payroll"
Payroll has zero to do with the manager. The GM assembles the team and the talent on the team, that's the case with any team. The manager gets a set of players, and has to use them. The A's had a very talented team during Macha's tenure.
Give Lou Pinella a team devoid of talent, and they will lose a bunch of games. Same with TLR.

Does anyone find it suspicious that they are making this announcement the day after the Phillies win the world sereis? Is it similar to when Boras announced A-rod's contract extension during game 4 last year?

Thank you, Melvin.

Interesting becuase TLR won a world series with a team devoid of talent (well besides pujols who is God).

No, it was stated a quite a few times that the Brewers were waiting until after the series to announce the manager.

That 2006 team performed way above their heads. It goes both ways though. TLR and Pinella are great managers, but if the GM doesn't assemble a half-decent team, the team ain't going anywhere.
Look at the 2007 Cardinals. How many games did they win?

THey had the best player, maybe ever (TBD), and probably the best pitcher in the NL for those two years, right? Thats not a bad start to a team...
They were the worst team to ever win a world series though, I'll definitely give you that.
