« Red Sox Rumors: Bay, Tazawa, Kawakami, Lugo | Main | Cubs Rumors: Dempster, Peavy, Sabathia, Hill »
A few days ago we looked at notable first round compensation draft picks from this decade. In those cases, a team lost its first round pick directly to another team for signing a free agent.
Today, we'll look at notable supplemental round picks. These are not picks one team gives to another, but rather picks squeezed in when a Type A or B free agent is lost.

"wow, 2005 was an incredible draft year for the red sox!"
Man, and these supplemental picks barely scratch the surface. The Sox' top five picks that season have all hit the big league club and only one of them failed to make an impact. The Sox' top 2005 picks were: Jacoby Ellsbury, Craig Hansen (Who at least served to land Jason Bay), Clay Buchholz, Michael Bowden and Jed Lowrie.
Looking through them, 2005 was clearly Epstein's best draft class yet.
