« Dodgers Sign Hector Luna | Main | Scott Erickson Talking Comeback »
The Indians may not be a player for J.J. Putz, as they can choose between strong free agent closer options in Kerry Wood and Brian Fuentes. MLB.com's Anthony Castrovince says the Indians met with Wood's agent yesterday. Trevor Hoffman remains on the radar as well.

They'll probably go after Wood or Hoffman... both are cheaper together than Fuentes is alone. Wood will probably be better than Hoffman.

Well, looks like the days of employing closers like Wickman are over for these Indians.
Fuentes and Wood are questionable, as although they have proven track records in the NL, they have never competed a whole season in the AL. Hoffman, on the other hand, has. It would be interesting to see who they end up signing.

Hoping Wood stays in the NL, I need him in my keeper league!

No... Trevor Hoffman has been almost his whole career in San Diego... except for his first year in Florida.

Whoops, my bad. For some reason, I've always thought Hoffman played for the Indians... I stand corrected, lol.

BleedinBlue- You do realize that going from the NL to the AL as a closer makes no difference? Pitchers won't be batting in the late innings.
