Lots of roster moves for the Amazin's today. Bart Hubbuch tweets that in addition to Wily Mo Pena and Javier Valentin, the Mets have also released outfielder Bobby Kielty. The former Oakland cult hero was hitting .231-.394-.346 in just 33 plate appearances for Triple-A Buffalo.

They may be promoting some of their younger prospects. Maybe to showcase them (even though scouts could go to the AA games) or just to draw better in Buffalo.

"Another failed Met's team trying to buy a series

Come on, its triple A depth.
Your just hating for unknown reasons.

And Boston cult hero!
"Another failed Met's team trying to buy a series"
That's just stupid. When a team hires guys like Bobby Kielty, Livan Hernandez, Tim Redding, etc they aren't trying to buy a series, they are trying to strike gold with depth.

He was a Twins cult hero long before Oakland got him.

Wow Raymond you really like to spew Mets hate don't you? In many of the posts you talk about the Mets being old. Really? The average year of birth for their current roster is 1978.52. So roughly 30 years old. I would hardly consider that an old team. And even when you consider everyone on the DL it brings their average Year of Birth down to 1978.21. That would be 31 years old, again hardly an old team.

true purple, true, all the fans of New York (Yankees and Mets) think there teams are gold,Money wont buy a series, sorry guys,Baltimore and the Yankees can speak the truth

Very true Pseudofool, my bad on that one. I just remember Ronnie MacLand at the Coliseum.

I'm not a Mets fan lol. I'm just speaking the truth. And yes money can buy a world series, you just need to spend your money correctly. Exactly what the Mets and Yankees have not done. Doing stupid things like giving Jorge Posada a 4 year deal or Luis Castillo a 4 year deal.

Raymond - get a life, its a AAA move - dont flatter yourself by thinking you know what its like to be a Met fan...

re: baseball09
I know the Yankees proved that up 3-0 in the series isn't the end, but I have a hard time giving Kielty a lot of credit for doing anything to win Game 4 of a World Series that Boston swept 4-0. Yes, it was the deciding game, but it's not like Colorado was actually going to come back.

If I were the Giants, I would pick up Kielty and use him as a utility player and against southpaws
