Here's a few links to check out while the Cardinals try to stave off elimination...
- Prior to this evening's game, Jim Thome said he would "still love to come back" to the White Sox, according to Chris DeLuca of The Chicago Sun Times. ''I want to come back to the American League,'' said the 39-year-old Thome, who is making $13MM in the final season of the monster six-year, $85MM contract he signed with the Phillies prior to 2003.
- Ken Fidlin of The Calgary Sun writes that new Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopolous "would do well to foster" what he calls the "Twins Way" in Toronto. He's referring to a "culture of professionalism and attention to detail."
- Forgive the self-promotion, but if you're looking for a way to keep track of where each team's draft picks go once free agency starts, make sure you check out our 2010 Draft Order Tracker at River Ave. Blues. I'll keep that baby updated all winter as signings are make official, so make sure you check back in often.
If the Twins played in the AL East they would of finished 3rd. I'm not sure the Jays should try and be like the Twins.

The Jays don't have to act like the Twins as they already are. If you take both records and compare what they would do if they changed divisions by winning percentage against the new teams the records for both would be almost identical. Get rid of Wells and the budgets are close. The Twins are only a winning formula in the Central and certainly not in the East.

Good, besides the Dodgers who in the NL would give him a contract?

The Blue Jays are wise to want to be like the Twins. What was meant by this comment was "play like a team" and "learn fundamentals" unlike AL East teams that suck all talent to their division and don't really have teams, just selfish individuals.

I love how these AL East blowhards love their own division. I forgot the Orioles and the Rays were powerhouses to really jack up that division. One forgets that Tigers, Sox and Cleveland (should of) represented the AL a few years ago 3 years in a row in the World Series.

Cleveland, should of?
Maybe they didn't because the Red Sox were a better team?
An 87 win team won the AL Central this season. A 103 win team won the AL East, and even the 84 win Rays from the AL East would have at least been competitive in the Central.
The entire AL is extremely strong, but the East is ridiculously tough. Even the Orioles have some very nice young players in Jones, Wieters, Tillman, Matsuz, Markakis, and others.

Your argument is that because the White Sox were good in 2005 (but were below 500 this year) the Tigers were good in 2006 (and were an ok team this year) and the Indians were good in 2007 (but have lost half that roster) that the Central is stronger than the East in 2009 and beyond?
Also, no central team had a winning record against the AL East this year.
