Rays Interested In Jorge Julio
You can add another Florida team to the mix for Arizona reliever Jorge Julio - the Devil Rays. Ken Rosenthal updated this article with the rumor.
Rosenthal adds that Julio is not Tampa Bay's first option, and that the goal could be to flip him for prospects. Makes me wonder if they might try something similar with Al Reyes given the current market for relievers.
The Marlins, Cardinals, and Giants have expressed interest in Julio in the past.
Hat tip to DRays Bay for passing it along.

I don't see why someone would want Julio after how he's looked in spring training. For 400k he's worth the risk, for 3.6MM he's way too expensive for a mediocre reliever.
He's got great stuff now and then but is just god awful in between.

you know, his spring stats don't look that terrible. I am not sure what the DRays would have (and give up)that the DBacks would want though.

9.1 IP, 4 SO and a 5.79 ERA? Small sample size alert but the fact that his stats have gotten significantly worse over his last 3 outings would really give me cause for concern if I were looking to take him on.
I've watched him pitch lately and he just really seems disinterested. I think the trade rumor stuff is getting to him.
