I think Ed Wade is still in the market for five or six more relievers and the Padres have quite a few decent arms in the bullpen.

I'm surprised more teams aren't asking about Luke Scott (maybe they are?). Dirt cheap, above-average offense if he stays healthy. He'd be particularly useful in the AL where his mediocre-at-best defense might be able to hide as a DH.

I wonder if this means Pads aren't after Fukudome anymore?

i doubt the padres are going to have much interest in fukudome .he's going to get 13 to 14 million a year and the padres won't bid that high .

im tired of giving the padres free players... even if they suck we need to get a return.. or package him for pitching.. i mean come on dont let this be another ensberg or lane deal

it's sad to see Luke Scott go. But hopefully he can get a full time job with the pads, he deserves it. wonder who the Astros get back in return?

Clay Hensley for Luke Scott straight up is what I'm predicting.

Kinda sad to see him go. He wasn't the best defensive player in the field, but he was fun to watch. I sincerely hope he (and whoever goes with him) nets some decent pitching.

If the astros can get geer or leblanc for scott, in my opinion, they just outfoxed Kevin Towers, which is pretty hard to do.

hmmm...I'm not too happy with LeBlanc or Geer - I mean I'd settle for it, but I think if the Pirates can get Headley for Nady and McLouth, I don't see why the 'Stros can't get him for, let's say, Scott and Wiggy. Maybe Burke. I dunno. But Antonelli would make me happy too. That being said, I'd still prefer they package him with Qualls and land Chad Cordero - sure he's not A+++++ closer, but he's still pretty damn good...and we've got bullpen pieces. Just do that, land David Aardsma or Nick Masset from the ChiSox for Burke and there you go.

I've seen LeBlanc and Geer and neither is ever going to be a number one, but either case and Astros fans should be happy. As a Padres fan Towers can do no wrong in the trading market so i'm behind him 100%

Personally, I think going from Qualls to Chad Cordero might be a downgrade. Cordero would be moving from a pitcher's park to a hitter's park.

im happy we didnt trade away our #1 catcher. I like luke scott and our other catcher colt, but nick looks better. I trust KT 100% as well.
