I'm not sure how effective Foulke's bread-and-butter change-up will be if he's topping out at 84.
The only question will be whether he throws regular batting-practice pitches or batting-practice pitches that dip down and away to lefties.

The reds need to lockup phillips asap. He is the righthanded bat protecting Griffey,Dunn,Votto. Any one no if Bruce bats righty?

So if the Red Sox spend 70 percent of what the Yankees do then they are "becoming as bad" as them. I am not sure if this is a testament to how ridiculous the Yankees payroll is or a product of the talk radio era where catchy mindless jabber rules public opinion.

I agree on the note that Phillips needs to be locked up long term by the Reds I love his defense and he offense is great too. He should have won either the Silver Slugger or the Gold Glove last year. I could see him becoming a Barry Larkin type of guy who stays with the Reds the rest of his career.

Sorry Bruce only bats Left handed. I have a feeling the Reds will fill the need for a Righty either next year or the year after depending on if Griffey or Dunn leave or not.

How about trading Dunn to the Brewers for Hall/capuano? I think that could word out well for both teams. The brewers only have Feilder as a left handed bat, and Dunn would give them more balance. The reds would have another right haned bat locked up nicely over the next 3 years, and Capuano could look nice in there rotation.

I posted this way back in November before the Hot Stove started but it might be of interest to Padre fans now that KT has been extended for another few years. He really is the best around. I have ranked Towers' top 10 trades of all-time, starting with the Gonzalez/Young for Eaton/Otsuka theft.

That McGwire trade was pretty interesting. Posting old "could have been" trades is pretty cool. Tim, maybe that's something you could continue on slow rumor days.

84 mph wow sign him up! Memo to Pedro feliz; That is by far the best offer you will get!! You are not good!
But giants fans should at least be happy he's gone.
