Reuniting Zito with Peterson may well be a positive, but I just don't see how it can happen. The Mets extended him through 2009, so it would be at least until then unless the Giants can buy him out somehow. I just can't see the Giants eating $80 million of that contract, especially if Zito can improve at all.

I would not mind at all adding Reyes to the braves equation, but just do not think he is worth what the cards would want in return, which would be lillibridge more than likely. I would rather use lillibridge in a package to get a young pitcher who has maintained more success at the major league level.

I heard that the giants might be looking at Inoa, maybe boosting up their influence in Latin an South America is the way they'll become good again.
And about Zito I don't see the giants trading him while being forced to eat 80 mil, no way.

Anthony Reyes is "eminently available."
I did not realize that Mr. Reyes was so revered in his sport!

So what you're saying is that Inoa is 18, or maybe even 19?

I wonder what its like in the Giant clubhouse concerning Barry Zito. It must be awkward hangin around the lockeroom around your 120 million dollar pitcher who cant get anybody out. Maybe even like walking on egg shells. :)

I wonder how that compares to having a 1.050 OPS but being surly with your team mates, and being the center of a media maelstrom.
Is it the exact opposite of the calming effect that Jeter's steely gaze inspires? How high is Zito's AORP? Awkwardness over Replacement Player. I'd say he has a 25% chance to revert to quiet hippie, with a 10% breakout rate where he moves to a full blown luekemia in the clubhouse.

How about the fact that he's the first guy to acknowledge that, at least so far, the Mets have gotten the better end of the Milledge deal. Obviously its still way to early for any serious conclusions to be drawn, but Church alone has been much better than Milledge, and the games Schneider has caught have yielded an ERA more than a run lower than when anyone else has caught.

What!? $1.5MM!?!?! But thats not slot money! Who do you think the Astros are? Some sort of team that cares about their farm system?
Also, AORP made me laugh.

speaking on behalf of the Mets, we will be glad to take on Zito and his full salary- how about C Delgado for Zito, Linceceum, Matt Cain, and a couple of prospects?

Ha ha ha, you're a funny kid jakec. I'd trade Lincecum and Cain when Cows take a dumps on Mars.
Helloelan who are you talking to about Inoa?
Posted by: AriGoldisaG | May 02, 2008 at 12:53 PM
Thems was jokes, he's dominican so he must be lying about his age.

Zito is really losing his fan appeal. Last season he sucked but fans still had hope. Now fans are creating sites like http://www.tradebarryzito.com/ and bashing him not stop.
And lol at anyone who thinks we would trade Lincecum or Cain.
