I wouldn't be remotely shocked if the Rangers moved Blalock. Elvis Andrus should be ready by the end of next season, at which point Michael Young can move over to third so Andrus can take over.

I'm honestly starting to get scared of these damn Rangers..

"Ian Kennedy for Salty?"

Hmm an interesting swap. A couple of fallen prospects being swapped to fit team needs would make sense. But I'm not sure this deal does.

I feel like Kennedy doesnt have quite the ceiling to have the same value of a Saltalamacchia.

I recall talking about a Salty for Homer Bailey swap earlier in the year, and I still feel like that deal would be more logical. Similar concept, but IMO slightly more logical.

Maybe Kennady for Ramirez would that be better.

And honestly, at this point I almost prefer Max Ramirez over Salty. From what I've heard he seems more likely to stick behind the plate.

I'm not saying that a Kennedy/Salty swap was a bad idea, I'm just saying I'm not so sure Kennedy for Ramirez is much better.

But I definately get the feeling that one of Ramirez and Salty will be moved for young pitching, because Teagarden is the best defensive catcher they have and will be MLB ready next year. He should be playing behind the plate, with the guy that doesnt get traded playing DH.

I would much rather trade Salty over Ramirez/Teagarden. If we lose Milton this offseason (though I think we'll end up overpaying for him), Max can DH and play 1st when Davis needs time off. Salty still has a high ceiling, and I think the Rangers can get a good return for him. I would gladly take Homer Bailey or Ian Kennedy over Salty.

I also wouldn't mind maybe hanging on to both Salty/Blalock if there would be a good trade out there over the winter. I personally would love the Rangers to maybe go after the likes of Josh Johnson from Florida in the offseason, if he can be bought for a good price (and they are in need of a catcher as it is).

Random thoughts, but do ya'll think their is any chance to pry Liriano away from Minnesota? I'd throw them Blalock, Cruz, and Arias if we could land Francisco + Class A infielder.

Lastly, does anyone think Laird will be the one to go? If so, when and where?

Hmmm. I've heard Feliz has been incredible in the minors, and I think Borbon will be good too. However, I don't know where he would hit in the lineup. Is he more a power guy with speed or a speed guy with some power?

What do you think would be a plausible trade for Nelson Cruz? I'm sure teams have interest, and his minor league numbers are incredible. I just can't imagine what the Rangers we'll be able to come up with as a equal trade.

I feel like by the time that the rosters are expanded next season, Andrus should be ready to take over. His main issues are things that really can be fixed because he's so young for his levels. I think Andrus is gonna end up being a pretty special player, picture Edgar Renteria in his prime..
