Dodgers don't need a beeter bat at shortstop. They do however, need 16 rolls of tape, Icy-Hot and a whirlpool out there.

I think Chad Tracy would be a good return for the Braves from the DBacks but I don't think he'll be enough and is probably more than we should spend on a 2 month rental.
Chad is a decent 1B under control pretty reasonably through 2010.
I don't see the FO doing this deal and I'm OK with that.

There have been numerous reports and rumors abotu the Braves and Dbacks Discussions. Over at TalkingChop.com, they discuss in pretty good depth. The braves centerpiece for the bounty from the diamondbacks by far is connor jackson; however, he is probably the dbacks most consistent hitter with orlando hudson, and probably would not be traded for two months of tex. Another possibility that has been discussed is Jarrod Parker and Chad tracy coming to the braves; personlly, I like Parker, but I would like a good young hitter, as the lower in the braves minors you go, the better our pitching gets. However, I think Parker and Tracy are a lot more valuable than two draft picks, so definately no arguments from me.

Chad Tracy by himself would be a terrible return for the Braves. While he may be worth 2 months of Teixeira, he is certainly not worth 2 months of Teixeira plus the 2 compensatory picks that come with him. Now a deal centered around Tracy and a good prospect would probably be worth it, but if the Dbacks only offer up Tracy, the next thing they'll hear is a ring tone.

Agree on the Dodgers and the bat at short. Nomar has found his stroke and, when healthy, has to be considered still one of the best bats at the position.
