Clemens Quotes

KRIV-TV in Houston talked to Roger Clemens recently.  Clemens seems caught in some kind of limbo between pitching and retiring:

"Right now I don't have the desire to do so.  I'm enjoying what I'm doing, the number of things I'm doing around town, just enjoying that.  I don't know if I will ever say no. I would have to know that I could perform at a high level and that my body would be able to hold up."

Not sure exactly what to make of that meandering quote - is the 46 year-old leaving the door open to playing again?  What will he not say no to?

Just go hide somewhere...im sick of this roid using head case....

From the article, the line before the quote above:

Clemens did not play in 2008. The first time he has not played in a Major League game since 1983 the year before he began his big league career and at this point said he is not interested in playing.

Sure sounds like the question was something along the lines of "Do you want to play again?"

I think he does want to play again, but things are pretty quiet for him now. If he plays again, the roids issue will flare up. If he wants to be in the HOF, he needs to lay low or admit his errors. Playing again will not help his cause.

Go away clemens. We are finally getting the kind if baseball we all want. Younger players who aren't cheaters.

Was thinking the opposite, Clark. He might want to play again in 2009 to push back his HoF eligibility another 2 years.

Totally agree with joemorgan=#1.

I wish Clemens would pull a McGwire and just straight up disappear from the world.

Clemens...as a closer?
