« Royals Payroll Could Reach $70 Million | Main | Brown's Latest: Furcal, Manny, Abreu »
Last week, we learned that Curt Schilling would be open to returning to the Phillies midseason if he pitches next year. GM Ruben Amaro Jr. said he hadn't even considered the possibility yet.
Also last week, Schilling was asked about returning to the Diamondbacks. He likes that idea as well. The D'Backs could probably fit him in. It'll be even cooler if he's reunited with Randy Johnson.

I think the only man Schilling truly hates is Barack Obama.

PLEASE don't bring Schilling back to Philly...He wanted out a long time ago and he got his wish so keep him out...The only thing he'll do is run his mouth and he prolly won't be any good...It's time to hang em up Curt.

My biggest Curt moment as a Diamond Back is after they clinched. Randy and Curt were front and center as MVPs and Johnson was holding the Trophy. Schilling just about rips it out of his hands and holds it over his head like a little kid proclaiming 'it's mine, it's mine'. Randy just stood there and let it happen, but you could see he was trying to be gracious and have that 'I'd like to smack you' look all in one. Ahh, yet another Curt moment trying to avoid the spotlight or hound any glory.

Unless Schilling will work for $8.50 an hour, I don't see it happening. Previous reports said that they have $10 million to spend on Johnson and a second baseman. So if they get Loretta for $2 million, its going to take the whole $8 million to get Johnson, especially when he made $15 million last year. No way he splits that with Schilling.

I don't think the D-Backs would resign Schilling due to current budget issues. I think they should get a second baseman first. And there is a rumor that Trever Hoffman will consider any D-Back offer so he can get back at the Padres for blowing him off. And the D-Backs need a solid pitcher in there bullpen as there bullpen combined for 28 losses. If they had a solid bullpen the D-Backs would have easily been a 90-100 win team last and would have clinched there division about the same times as the Angels did. The the rest of the budget to sign Randy.
