Freddy's a Type B, but Grabow's Type A? Some of these choices don't make sense, like Crawford.

If Crawford was a Type B his contract would get another 10-15 stapled on it.
You get Crawford and do not have to surrender a Draft pick? All 29 GMs would take numbers and wait in line too get him.

So what about Joe Crede? i know he only played 97 games last year but he still hit 17 hr's and he already has 10 this year.
I guess there's no love for Minnesota...

Crede is not a B and not too close at 45.7 points (lowest B in the group is 59.1).

Mark De Rosa's pace of late has been torrid. If he keeps this up he's Type A.

Tim, where are you getting the points from? Is their a site that shows every players current point total?

Maybe I am misunderstanding why some guys are Type A and some are Type B, but why would Bedard and Washburn from the Mariners not be Type A free agents right now. Bedard has an ERA of 2.47 and Washburn has a 3.30. If both these guys keep it up, what is stopping them from being Type A free agents?
Also, what about Russel Branyon? The guy is killing it and if he maintains, he will put up simular number as Rual Ibanez did last year, who was a Type A free agent.
What am I missing here?
Oh - and I will pay somebody 15 million dollars to take Silva away from us! PLEASE!

@ Superm8958-
Playing time explains Bedard and Branyan. Bedard only pitched 81 innings last year due to injury, and Branyan only played 50 games(152 PA) last year.
Washburn would probably have to do with the fact that Elias takes into account wins and W-L records, and Washburn went 5-14 last year.
The Elias system is just archaic.

Where is Adam LaRoche? I think he's played and produced more than guys like Blalock, Hairston, Reed Johnson, and Matsui. Granted, he's not a great player but I thought he'd be good for some sort of compensation.

Agreed he's produced more than them bigpat, but he's still a liability in just about every category for the Pirates. I don't like him. :)

How determine Type A and Type B FA's? Is it based soley on offensive production?

did danys baez's injury last year pretty much kill his chances to be worth any compensation?

Interesting that the potential B prospects over all are better than the type A? Johnson, Crawford, Blalock, Ankiel,Vlad, Matsui for OF, Vs only Bay and Holliday on the "A" list.
IF has Polanco, Sanchez and DeRosa, not a bad IF huh?
Decent starters with Lackey, Duscherer, Wake, Bedard, Wolf and Davis.
Fair BP guys with Putz, Oliver, Rodney and Ayala.
Overall this potential "B" list rocks over the "A" list by a mile.

Crawford, Ankiel, Vlad,Cameron,Delgado,Beltre & Lackey.
Absolute bargains as type B's.

What would Jack Wilson be? If I'm not mistaken, I believe he has a 2010 club option. So he could be a FA this off season.

Also, I'm interested in Penny's ranking. For obvious reasons.

How on Earth is Mike Redmond a borderline Type B? He plays like 40 games a year!
