« Rangers Rumors: Blalock, Lamb, Padilla | Main | Phillies Rumors: Iguchi, Carrasco »
According to Dylan Hernandez of the L.A. Times, the Dodgers asked the Brewers about Bill Hall. Hall, who turns 28 soon, is owed $4.8MM in '08, $6.8MM in '09, and $8.4MM in '10. He could play third base for the Dodgers.
You may also recall that the Dodgers called the Brewers about Ben Sheets recently. We also know that the Brewers have discussed trading for Andy LaRoche. Can Ned Colletti and Doug Melvin find a match?
Hernandez's article also mentions that Troy Glaus could be an option for the Dodgers, but that may just be speculation.

Does anyone think there's a way for the Reds to pry Billingsley away from the Dodgers in a deal centered around Edwin Encarnacion? He's an Ohio boy, and it'd be great to get him.
If not him, do you think they'd part with Lowe? I've always thought he's what you need at GABP.

can someone please explain to me why the Dodgers have such a hate on for LaRoche?? Give the kid the starting job and let him play. I could see if thy landed Arod or Cabrera, but Bill hall???

I agree - play LaRoche!
Edwin isn't anything special. You can't trade away a stud prospect for a guy like that.
Same goes with Lowe. He is a very solid 2/3 pitcher right now. His value exceeds Edwin's by a long shot IMO.

This Bill Hall, Ben Sheets rumors going around might have something behind it. I'm sensing that there could be something big in the makings here. The Crew has some starting pitching available and with the inconsistancy of Ben Sheets with injury and Bill Hall's down year the Crew might be able to swing a good trade out of this, one that would include LaRoche would be nice

The problem with Laroche is he didn't perform well in his short stint in the bigs. Granted, he was probably nursing a minor injury, and that probably effected his production. But he did come up again towards the end of the year, seemed to be healthy, and just looked overmatched. I don't think he's been given a REAL opportunity to win the job. I'd hate to see the Dodgers trade him, and see him blossom for another club, ie. Konerko, Pedro.
