« Rangers Reach Deal With Bradley | Main | Cardinals Could Make Rasmus Available »
The one good thing about Sundays is that you always find a ton of little tidbits, even if there isn't anything big in the works.

Come on Yankees! What the hell are they doing trying to sign Hawkins. The guy is from the NL. Look at how Dotel, Farnsworth, and Gagne all did in the AL.

Does anyone know if the Padres would be willing to move Brian Giles? Doug Melvin wants a left-handed outfielder with a high OB% and the Padres like bullpen reclamation projects. A deal starting with Turnbow could work out.

I do agree with you on how bad Gagne and Farnsworth did in the AL, but Dotel however has been pretty good in the AL [despite his 10.80 ERA in 14 games with the Yanks in '06.] Dotel did have 40 saves in 3 years in the AL. Though Dotel is better in the NL, He still a pretty good reliever in the AL.

Gagne was not bad in the AL on the Rangers. He just did bad with the Sox. He had a sub 2.5 era with the rangers as the closer.

I don't know Yankfan1, I still always look at Hawkins as an AL guy just because of how much he did struggle in the NL. Just hope he pitches for the yanks as he did with the twins years back.

Well Hawkins is 35, he's never going to pitch like he did when he was with the twins. Also, with all the rookies the Yanks got expect Hawkins to pitch in many games which would probably affect his pitching at the end of the season. Remember how Viscaino did bad at the end of the seson.

I think the reason why Gagne did good with Texas but bad with Boston because Gagne felt like he had more pressure in Boston since they were going into the playoffs. In Texas, Gagne did good since he had no pressure on himself since Texas was in last place. But with Boston, he knew that he was going to pitch some pretty close games. It was a mental thing with Gagne.
