Sign Chacon and Trachel and deal them off at the dead line. Best thing the O's could do.

@Barroid
That only works on players that teams might actually want.
Nobody is going to look to acquire Steve Trachsel at the trade deadline.
The O's would be stuck with him (and probably Chacon) and it would just end up being a total waste of money.

Rod Barajas for Jason Frasor. I've been saying it for awhile.

Sadly the Cubs were suckers enough to send the O's Rocky Cherry and Scott Moore for Trashel last year. Not sure about Moore, but Cherry could have been a useful bullpen guy.
I would be hard-pressed to say that whatever they paid for Trashel last year was worth getting two mid-level prospects in return. And I doubt they could do it again.

The article mentioned Gallagher by name and a Cubs center fielder. I'll take a wild guess they mean Pie, not Fauld. I would also guess another name is in there like Marshall, Colvin or Cedeno.
Myself, I was ok with the Roberts idea. I posted all along to upgrade at short or my main trade would be for a quality starter.

Well, they did trade Trax at the Waiver deadline to the Cubs last year and got some decent return. Nothing mind-blowing but they got a little depth at 3B and RP from the Cubs. All in all, it was a cheap price for starting pitcher innings that late in the year, and, the Os got a decent return from a guy they weren't counting on to stay in the org. It would be funny if they basically do the same with Trax in '08. Imagine that? The Orioles might be able to bring in 3-4 players worth of depth on account of a single player being traded twice. That's one way to contribute to a organization.

Yeah I guess I should have clarified.
That SHOULD only work on players that teams actually want.
I can't be held responsible for anyone that thinks acquiring Trachsel is going to help at all.

The Orioles need to be dumping their agrbage not purchasing more. There is not one player that is mentioned that will really give the orioles any kind of upgrade over their current roster. This is just a waste of money if any get signed. They will have NO trade value mid season!
