Speaking specifically of the story on Tony Bernazard, this is exactly wny everyone HATES the New York media. The rest of us barely care that Willy Randolph got fired. We certainly don't care that two random guys called the author and said that the vice president of development is a "bad guy".

I don't even care that Willy Randolph was fired in the middle of the night with an email...he works at the pleasure of the ownership. They don't owe him anything but a paycheck. Callous? Sure, but when you're talking about changing one of the main faces of an organization, sometimes you need a bad guy.

In defense of bad guys around baseball, Ken Davidoff is a dolt.

Bedard for Teixera. Mariners get the power bat they need while the Braves get a left handed ace.

Another reason Sabean is a moron. Who says they should bring in Peterson as a replacement. They should bring him in strictly to get Zito right. Then again, who cares, its the Giants.

Cmon...if Zito can't pitch he can't pitch. Is Peterson gonna tickle his tummy and everything is gonna suddenly work? Uh...no. Walks + declining stuff + low strikeouts = suck. Zito is supposed to be a professional...if he can't fix himself then that's sad.

"Zito is supposed to be a professional...if he can't fix himself then that's sad."

Isn't that what a pitching coach is for? or a hitting coach? How often to players "fix things themselves"?

Tiger Woods and Roger Federer have coaches...

You're right...I didn't word that entirely right. I guess what I meant is that Zito does have a pitching coach...his name is Dave Righetti. How many players in baseball get to choose their coaches just because they suck with their current coaches? It doesn't happen and it shouldn't be different with Zito. His stuff just isn't good anymore, and to top it off he can't throw strikes. That's really really severe. Do you honestly think a coach will be able to analyze the situation and just fix him...so now he's the old Zito again? Sounds somewhat unrealistic.

I think Zito is beyond fixing...but Righetti sucks!

He should have been fired long ago.

I could see peterson going to texas reteam with washington.

Who does it hurt to bring Peterson in? I don't think the plan is to replace Righetti but to just bring in Peterson as an advisor type. "Rags" is a professional and shouldn't get his feelings hurt. When you invest $126 million you have to do everything in your power to get Zito right and get your monies worth!

oh and by the way, Righetti has done a GREAT JOB with the Giants young pitchers. Cain, Lincecum and Sanchez are all doing well with his help and will continue to blossom under his watchful eye.
