« Greg Maddux Rumors: Thursday | Main | Mets Interested In Luis Ayala »
2:05pm: Count the D'Backs out, per Buster Olney.
1:35pm: Toss the Angels into the "not making a deal today" barrel.
12:38pm: The Rays and Mets also seem quiet today.
11:00am: According to ESPN's Buster Olney, the A's are not likely to make a trade today. Olney's source puts it at 1%. So, looks like Justin Duchscherer and Huston Street can rest easy.

Well that's Great That Buster Hymen says that watch all the A's who are trade bait get dealt now because Olney is a Yankees HACK who only knows about the Skankees because they tell him & use him for PR

As a A's fan, I was really hoping we'd just get crazy today. Oh well, it would've been fun.

Don't believe that MORON OLNEY !!!

I understand not dealing Duke but Street? Ellis?
Street is very expendable with Devine/Blevins/Ziegler there to slide into the closer's spot (Devine will probably be it when he returns).
Ellis is most likely gone after this year, although there really isn't much of a market for him.

How about Ellis to Minnesota?

If Embree survives the day on the roster, I'll be much pissed. Yanks got *something* for LaTroy Hawkins, Embree is left-handed and sucks less, so The A's should be able to get something for him.

Ellis to Minnesota makes sense, if it gets done it would be pleasant.
Embree needs to go ASAP. LaTroy is atrocious. But then, it was the Astros.

On the trade deadline special it was mentioned that the mets might be interested in trading with the Pirates for Ian Snell, and put Snell in the bullpen as a set up man and as insurance to the rotation

Is any team going to make a trade besides the ones already? I thought this was going to be a good one this year. Unlike last year but you know theirs stilol time. I could be wrong.

Typical NY "every team is our farm team" BS - no way does Snell go anywhere this year. His value is at an all time low, we don't have enough pitching, and the Bucs are still high on him ... he's a former 14 game winner.

Wow surprising the best team in baseball, and it's sadly not that close, isn't making another move.

Something is brewing. The Phillies have been in the center of every rumor all month and I haven't heard anything today. Mahay? Grabbow/Michaels? I don't know, but theres something.

Not so fast on the Rays. Stark is reporting they're back in on the Jason Bay deal. The Rays want to deal Brignac and Neimann but the Pirates want Hellickson or Davis. We'll have to see who blinks first here.

I don't blame the Rays for not wanting to move their prospects for a rental.
They've already put themselves in a nice position to contend for several years.

Would you please just shut the hell up. I am sick of your, NY is obnoxious and stupid, and Pittsburgh is too smart, self righteous crap. You bitched for days and days about how Nady should return you some elite haul of prospects, and then him and Marte were just heisted away from you. So shut the hell up nobody cares what you have too say. By the way, I remember another pitcher the Mets stole from the Bucs, while his value was low. Do you remember? He is in the Mets rotation right now and pitching outstanding in July.

Bay's not a rental.

How is a guy making under $6 mil this year and $7.5 next year (yes, he's still under contract) and putting up a line like .275 30 95 a rental that would hurt the Rays?
I'm sure that, if they wanted to, they could lock Bay up too.
nrmax... looks like we actually agree about one thing. Again, Dave Littlefield is no longer in Pittsburgh. Really seems like you do care about what I have to say...seems like you're getting worked up.
Do you want to argue over nothing or do you want to actually tell me you think NY will get Snell as a reliever?
Btw...I'm not from Pittsburgh...and I never said Pittsburghers were smart.
